Tuesdays–Fridays: 11 a.m.– 7 p.m. “Arka” gallery – one of the four
art galleries in Vilnius, found by Lithuanian Artist‘s Association.
“Arka” gallery was opened in 1990, it is located in the Old Town of
Vilnius, in the architectural ensemble of XVI Bazilian convent. Gallery
is one of the largest in Vilnius – 6 exhibition halls contain nearly
500 m2 of exhibition space.
Gallery is working in the field of contemporary art and culture exchange projects, as well as solo, group, thematic, survey exhibitions. It does not give priority to the artists representing one or another stylistic trend, views or age groups. The only criterion for the selection of works is the high artistic standards. During the year “Arka” gallery arranges around 40 exhibitions. “Arka” is cooperating with Lithuanian and foreign artists, galleries, art museums and culture institutions. Beside the art exhibitions, “Arka” is organizing various presentations, concerts, launching of art books, leases halls for conferences, seminars, auctions, public ventures and parties. “Arka” gallery is publishing catalogues, posters, leaflets, collecting art funds, selling art works, spreading the information about Lithuanian art and artists. |
